Georgia Magouritsa
Special Physical EducationGeorgia Maggouritsa is a member of the Special Educational Staff in ‘Special Physical Education’ at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Science (DPESS), University of Thessaly in Greece. She is responsible for teaching and co-ordinating of undergraduate courses related to Special Physical Education since 2019. She received her Bachelor degree at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science (DPESS) of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (1993), the postgraduate diploma (M.Ed.) (2006) at the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program of the Universities of Democritus and Thessaly in the direction "Exercise and Quality of Life", and Ph.D. degree (2014) in ‘Exercise Psychology of people with psychiatric disorders’ at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science, University of Thessaly. Georgia Maggouritsa has extensive research activity in the field of exercise for people with disabilities with publications in refereed academic journals, congresses and conference proceedings. She is particularly interested in promoting inclusion of students with disabilities in typical classes, as well as about implementation of exercise programs for people with mental disorders in various health settings.
