Athanasios Kolovelonis
School Physical EducationAthanasios Kolovelonis is a member of the Teaching Staff of the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Thessaly. He has a Bachelor’s degree (1993) and a MSc (2006) from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a PhD from Democritus University of Thrace (2011). He has worked as a physical education teacher in elementary schools and in the Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Thessaly as a part-time lecturer and secondment staff. He has participated in 14 nationally and internationally funded research projects. He has published more than 40 papers and book chapters in national and international journals including the Journal of Sport and Exercise Psychology, the Journal of Applied Sport Psychology, the Psychology of Sport and Exercise, and the Journal of Learning and Instruction. He has also published three books including the Teachers’ guide book for Greek National Physical Education Curriculum for Grades 10-12. He is a member of the editorial board of Τhe Journal of Experimental Education and a regular reviewer for more than 25 scientific journals. His research focuses on life skills programs, self-regulated learning and cognitive development in physical education.
