Evangelos Galanis
Applied Sport PsychologyEvangelos Galanis is an Assistant Professor in Applied Sport Psychology at the Department of Physical Education and Sport Science of the University of Thessaly. He obtained his BSc in Physical Education and Sport Science (2008), MSc in Psychology of Exercise (2011), and PhD (2017) from the University of Thessaly. Part of his postgraduate studies were completed at the University of Jyvaskyla (Finland) and the Heymans Institute for Psychological Research at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses related to sport and exercise psychology, and swimming. His research interest focuses mainly on performance enhancement through the use of psychological techniques, but also in exercise programs for improving general health and well-being. He serves as a Section Editor for the journal “Inquiries in Physical Education and Sport” and is member of the Editorial Board for the journal “Sport Psychology” (Athlitiki Psichologia); he also serves as a reviewer in established sport psychology journals. Finally, he has been elected member of the Managing Council of the Hellenic Society of Sport and Exercise Psychology (HSSEP) since 2016.
