The Laboratory of Informatics of the DPESS was founded in 2015 with a view to providing an academic environment for covering the educational and research needs of the Department in the area of informatics and its applications in education and physical education.

As regards education, the Laboratory aims at:

• The design and organization of courses, educational programs and training programs on topics relevant to Informatics and Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
• The design and organization of courses, educational programs and training programs on the applications of Informatics and ICT in Physical Education

As regards research, the Laboratory aims at:

• The design, development and evaluation of digital environments for learning topics relevant to Informatics and ICT
• The design, development and evaluation of digital environments for learning topics relevant to Physical Education
• The design, development and evaluation of digital environments for promoting health and physical activity
• The design, development and evaluation of digital educational games
• The study of the effects of existing digital environments on the knowledge, motor skills and physical activity of young people with diverse capabilities
